In my 10 years long golfing experience, I’ve seen my fair share of golf push carts. I’ve owned a few bags as well, changed it quite often at the beginning until I was sure I’ve found the right one. Well, the right ones, to be honest. I’ve learned I like to switch between a couple of bags (one’s a stand bag) depending on my mood, I guess. That’s why it was important for me to find a push cart that’ll fit both my bags well.
Man, was I happy just when I saw Clicgear Model 4.0 the first time! I tell you, love at first sight! The design straight away seemed fantastic, the cart felt compact when packed down, and once I’ve gotten to see the features, the man was I excited!
It feels at the moment Clicgear Model 4.0 has everything you need for a light game as well as a long haul across the golf field, with inconveniences brought to a bare minimum. You’d think you won’t miss the bags sliding on bumps and such, hahah. Bye-bye, awkward breaks!
So, what’s so special about the new Clicgear Model 4.0? Let’s find out together, and I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do!
An adjustable three-wheeler
The first thing you’ll notice is that Model 4.0 rolls on three wheels (yeah, dude, we can count, right?). This doesn’t give away from the stability of the cart with a bag on for the reasons I’ll get to in a sec, but it does give you more maneuverability and a smoother ride. Every 12” wheel rolls perfectly with enough sturdiness and durability to follow you (or go in front of you) for years to come.
There are some nitpickers out there that’ll be like ‘oooh, but the front wheel doesn’t swivel, boo’, and they actually might be right, but in my experience, there’s as much inconvenience with losing wheels as there are without them, just on different occasions. You won’t be able to make extreme drag-like turns, but it won’t get you stuck when least needed either, don’t worry.
The best part of the rig is the adjustability of the upper seat on the cart. You see, they’ve made this really great mechanism that’ll adjust to your bag’s height in a second, but it also balances its weight out by changing the angle slightly so the cart keeps its stability as much as possible. What this means is – any bag will fit onto it! Heck yeah, stand bags! Everything, I say! And while providing the best stability no matter the bag!
Next, a really cool thing are the changes in the straps – they’ve started using silicon, and I was like, ‘What, why’s that?’, and then I figured. You know the bungee straps most other carts use? The two things I hated about them is 1. How firm they hold the bag, and 2. They’re slippery, and the bag can twist in its place.
Like, come on, bungees, you’re squeezing that bag like a lemon and it still twists? With the silicone straps that won’t happen anymore. You will be able to adjust how strongly they grip your bag and the material will hold the bag firmly in its place. As the poet would say ‘Come on, let’s twist never again’.
Next is the lower seat: It’s just enough above the front wheel it doesn’t bother it, while placed so the center of gravity is stable. It’s a really good feature when crossing taller grass, the bag will be safe above it or most of it for most of the time. It’s also (of course) fits all bags.
- NEW 2020 MODEL – New features include: infinitely adjustable silicone bag strap system to secure your bag, adjustable upper saddle which adapts to fit virtually any size of bag, new lower saddle support to prevent your bag from rubbing on the front wheel
- LIGHTWEIGHT & DURABLE – Aircraft grade, scratch-resistant, aluminum tubing and maintenance-free airless tires ensures the cart will last and weighs just 21 pounds
- EXTRA STORAGE – Storage net and full console with built-in scorecard, golf ball, pencil & tee holders
- PARKING HAND BRAKE – Prevents the cart from rolling when you walk away
- ACCESSORIES – Includes standard cup holder, umbrella mount, and additional accessory tabs for adding more Clicgear accessories
Finally, the console. Ah, the console! It’s wonderful, I tell you – there are four different tabs for other accessories Clicgear brought us, special umbrella holder (umbrella is one of the add-ons you can get), a cup holder, and a silicone pencil and note holder that will keep them in place during the toughest of bumps. They’re easy to use!
All in all, here’s a cart that I know will be by my side holding my bag for a long time. Clicgear has always had great carts, I can tell you, but this time, they’ve outdone themselves. I know you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.
What are the cart’s accessories?
Note: You might need to buy the accessories separately. The cart allows you to use the following accessories:
- Cart Seat
- Cooler Bag
- Shoe Brush
- Wheel Cover
- Umbrella Angle Adjuster
- XL cup holder
Can the standard cup holder hold normal size bottles?
The standard cup holder will hold the cups and bottles that are like soda bottle of 12OZ. For anything else, I’d go with an XL cup holder. Fits my short espresso perfectly (grandma was Italian).
Why is the cart out of stock again?
The cart is really on demand right now, and with the you-know-which virus situation it’s not easy for the company to keep up with this demand. Be patient, there will be carts for everyone!
